To the uninitiated, the auction house can seem like a circus show more than a sale at times. And rightly so – auctioneers like to keep things entertaining! Even if you can’t understand all of the jargon, you’ll have a great time (and you might even take home something you love).

Here’s Barrett at our own facility. We can’t tell you how much coffee he’d had on this particular morning, but trust us – that energy is all natural. We like to keep things upbeat and fun – but Barrett’s style is a blend of traditional and new.
You know that Aussies like to relax – but what do you think of their auction style? True, Jason Keen is more of a straight-up salesman than the kind of auctioneer we tend to think of – but it’s interesting to see how things are done in different places.
Bailey Ballou of Elgin, OK was the 2012 World Livestock Auctioneer Champion – and you can see why. The guy is practically legendary in the auction world.
A game show is the last place you’d expect to find an auctioneer – but the memorable Dotson family made a fast-talking splash on Family Feud. Laura Dotson is the star of the show here: she demonstrates her bilingual auctioning capabilities, pops a button, and makes us laugh the whole time.
John Ball of Luther, OK has the cadence and style of the old-school auctioneers. He’s assertive but not abrasive, and he’s a selling machine.
A bit more buttoned-up than some of his fellow auctioneers, Shawn Terrel takes the KAA Auctioneers Championship of 2011 in this clip.
